When Life Gets Unpredictable: Getting My Priorities Straight
Over the past year, I’ve talked a lot about predictability—and how when it disappears, so does confidence.
Recently, that idea became very real for me.
Last year, I was actually looking forward to a couple of surgeries—both knees. Not exactly something most people get excited about, but for me, it meant more mobility, less pain, and a better quality of life. It felt like a step forward.
During the process, I had a routine CT scan.
That scan picked up something unexpected.
It wasn’t what we were looking for.
That led to more testing… and ultimately, a cancer diagnosis.
A Shift in Priorities
Moments like that have a way of getting your attention.
Quickly.
What started as a plan to improve my mobility turned into something much bigger—a completely different kind of focus.
My health.
Not someday.
Not “when things slow down.”
Now.
I’ve spent years helping clients get their priorities straight when it comes to money—deciding what matters most and aligning their spending accordingly.
This was a reminder that the same principle applies to life.
Sometimes, in a much more direct way.
What This Has Brought Into Focus
I’ve always been a positive, forward-looking person.
But this experience has brought that mindset to the forefront in a deeper, more intentional way.
Not in a forced or overly optimistic sense—but in a grounded, practical one.
I’m focused on:
- Taking things one step at a time
- Following a clear plan
- Staying present
- Putting my energy where it matters most
Because when something like this shows up, you realize:
You don’t control everything.
But you do control how you respond.
The Connection to My Work
Interestingly, this has only reinforced what I already believe—and what I teach every day.
When life feels uncertain, people don’t need perfection.
They need clarity.
They need a plan.
They need to know what matters most and make decisions from that place.
Whether it’s your health… or your money… the principle is the same:
Decide what matters, and align your actions around it.
A Turning Point
I don’t see this as just a disruption.
I see it as a turning point.
A chance to refocus.
To simplify.
To make sure my time, energy, and attention are going where they should.
In my case, that starts with prioritizing my health.
What I’d Offer You
You may not be facing something like this.
But most people I talk to are dealing with some level of uncertainty—especially when it comes to money.
And the tendency is to wait…
Wait for things to settle down.
Wait for more clarity.
Wait for the “right time.”
But the truth is:
Clarity doesn’t come from waiting.
It comes from deciding.
Moving Forward
I’ll share more along the way as it makes sense.
For now, just know that I’m doing well, I’ve got a plan, and I’m moving forward with intention.
And if there’s one takeaway from all of this, it’s this:
When life gets unpredictable, it’s an opportunity to get clear on what matters most—and act accordingly.
Staying Connected
I’ve had a number of people reach out asking how things are going, and I truly appreciate the support.

Thank you for being part of my community—it means more than you know.
If your money doesn’t feel predictable right now, your confidence won’t either. Let’s change that.
