How I Am Doing…

There is a lot going on in the world right now, especially in our own country. I have been unsure how to approach it all. This is all new for me. There is an abundant amount of media and resources to consume, and it’s overwhelming. However, the things I can control are how I am educating myself and treating those around me. My commitment is to stand up.

I am blessed to live in a multicultural neighborhood and my wife and I have been making an effort to know our neighbors better than ever, we are building a community around us, and are making it a priority to appreciate the people around us. I encourage you to do the same. Educate yourself, take a stand, and prioritize what is truly important.

During all of this, my family lost someone we care deeply about. We all have our should’ves, could’ves, and would’ves. If I had only known I would’ve done this, if I had only known I could’ve done that…the list goes on and one. When we lose someone we love, when we see people around us hurting, we see all of the things we wish we could’ve, would’ve, should’ve done, it can be heartbreaking. My best advice right now is to invest in relationships and feel fortunate to have those around you.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
